When I first began to research this project, one of my questions was, how do I begin to talk to students about their writing? I had never held a conference with a student to talk about their writing. Anderson gives great advice to use when conferencing with our students. He mentions how most students do not know how to talk about their writing. In the double voice poem, I reenacted a possible fishbowl conference that Anderson mentions would help students feel confident about talking about conferencing. Fishbowl means that the teacher demonstrates how to talk about writing in front of the classroom.
